The Story
This project began with the careful removal of an existing garage to make way for a new workshop supporting the clients’ backyard farming business. Located in Portland’s historic Irvington district, the design had to meet strict review guidelines—integrating approved window styles and siding profiles so the structure feels authentic to its surroundings.
Inside, an open and flexible layout accommodates bicycle storage, outdoor equipment, and a functional workspace for farming tasks. Durable finishes and oversized doors ensure the workshop can handle daily use while maintaining a refined character that complements the main home.
