   By relocating the laundry to a reimagined storage closet in the family room, we created a discreet, efficient laundry space with a stacked washer and dryer tucked neatly out of sight.

   Converting the former laundry room into a full bathroom gave this family the extra space they needed, easing busy mornings and creating room to grow.

The Story

With two boys growing into teenagers, this family had simply outgrown their single bathroom. Rather than expanding the home, we looked for opportunities within the existing floor plan to create more functionality.

The former laundry room was transformed into a beautiful new full bathroom featuring a soaking-depth alcove tub, an apron-front vanity sink, and custom tile throughout. The original bathroom was then completely reimagined as a private retreat for the parents, replacing the outdated tub/shower combination with a spacious walk-in shower complete with a rain shower head, detachable hand shower head, and built-in bench. To make the new layout possible, the laundry was relocated to a converted storage closet in the family room, creating a streamlined laundry station with a stacked washer and dryer while preserving valuable living space.

Inspired by the homeowners’ New Orleans roots, the design embraces bold color, playful patterns, and eclectic details that celebrate their personality and history. Rich turquoise finishes, patterned tile, and whimsical accessories bring warmth and character to every corner, creating spaces that feel joyful, deeply personal, and uniquely their own.
