1. Storied Material Selection

   Countertops are the perfect place to introduce drama and tell a story. Here, that meant a stunning, one-of-a-kind Brazilian soapstone hybrid.

   For this client, design is an extension of her love for art. She wanted the room to feel like a work of art itself—a reflection of what makes her uniquely her.

The Story

For some clients, their interiors are more than just rooms they live in, they’re an extension of who they are. This client in particular has spent a lifetime curating her art collection, and every room in her home reflects that same instinct: each one feels like its own unique work of art. Her desire for a bathroom that matched her bold, eclectic style and told a story about who she is, became the driving force behind this design. We explored several directions before landing on a warm, moody, cozy interior that hugs you the moment you walk in.

Given the limited footprint, we kept the existing layout, but still found ways to make the shower feel more spacious than before. A slightly smaller drop-in tub and a reduced knee wall between the tub and shower did the trick. Proof that sometimes the smallest tweaks make the biggest impact.

The existing vanity had great bones, but its finish and tile countertop felt dated. Rather than start from scratch, we reworked it into something that feels curated rather than purchased.

From the floor tile to the paint color to the countertop slab, every material was chosen for its uniqueness and its ability to tell a story. The result: a bathroom that is anything but boring.
